This is a traditional Siberian hand forged Yakut /Evenki knife.
BLADE: 4 3/4" long Forged D2 (Х12МФ Rus) high carbon steel. Thickness 5 mm.
Handle: 5 1/4" long, Stabilized Siberian mammoth ivory slub with Mountain Goat antler bolster.
This handle is made of 10,000+ years old mammoth Ivory harvested in Siberia. It is usual for mammoth ivory to show cracks, discolorations, and inconsistencies. The ivory has been buried for 10,000 + years, sediments and tons of pressure have caused the colors and cracks. The material is stabilized for strength.
The sheath is crafted from leather and treated with natural oils and beeswax.
Belt loop is crafted from genuine Yakut horse hair.
