Own a timeless piece of Aboriginal Art! This is an artistic impression of a traditional Siberian hand forged Yakut /Evenki knife. With 300+ g of solid mammoth ivory this is an art installation perfect for your shelf or a fireplace mental.

BLADE:  Beautiful hand forged 4.5” long D2 (Х12МФ Rus) high carbon steel clearly bearing the marks of the smith’s hammer on both sides of the blade, measures 5 mm in thickness. The edges are polished to a mirror finish, and sharpened to razor perfection.

Handle: 6” x 2.5” solid slub of premium grade Siberian mammoth ivory, with Mountain Goat antler  bolster.

This handle is made of 10,000+ years old premium grade mammoth Ivory harvested in Siberia. While It is usual for mammoth ivory to show cracks, discolorations, and inconsistencies this premium 300 g slub is in excellent condition preserving the natural beauty of the mammoth tusk. Considering the ivory has been buried for 10,000 + years, sediments and tons of pressure have caused only minor cracks. The natural crust of the tusk’s outer layer has been preserved to craft this gem. The material is 100% natural with no resin added to stabilize it. The stabilization effect was achieved by putting a coat of Teak Oil.

The knife comes with a stand crafted from a beautiful birch root burl, allowing the knife to be displayed at different angles, vertically or horizontally.

The Evenki knife's unique concave/convex geometry sets it apart from every other knife. http://av-salnikov.livejournal.com/2995.html
